It is the birthplace of Waldorf education. The Uhlandshoehe Waldorf School in Stuttgart is the first of its kind worldwide. Its centenary celebration was the perfect occasion to replace the old administrative building on the school premises by a new modern one. The Association of Waldorf Schools invested around 22 million euros in modern classrooms, state-of-the-art science rooms and art rooms and a eurythmy hall. In addition, the refurbishment project included a new dining hall and professional kitchen, in which state-of-the-art MKN equipment has been in operation since March 2023. Healthy organic food, rich in vitamins and a full abstinence from convenience products. These principles guide the menu planning in the Uhlandshoehe Waldorf School cafeteria.
Up to 350 meals have to be prepared for pupils and teaching staff at the school every day - fast, fresh and tasty. Recommendations from colleagues in the professional cooking segment led to the decision in favour of MKN equipment. The kitchen team appreciates many of the MKN features such as simple operation, optimised time sequences, precise regeneration, reliability and sustainability as well as quality of the equipment. This includes appliances from the modular Optima 850 range - induction hobs, quick boiling kettles and pressure bratt pans as well as a FlexiChef Team and two FlexiCombi combi steamers. Perfect conditions for stress-free preparation of fresh and delicious organic meals.
On 7 September 1919, the entrepreneur Emil Molt founded the independent Uhlandshoehe Waldorf School in Stuttgart's Haussmannstrasse for the children of his workers at the Waldorf-Astoria cigarette factory. Rudolf Steiner, founder of anthroposophy, was responsible for developing the educational concept. The focus lies on children's talents and skills. Cognitive, artistic and practical skills are encouraged and intellectual, practical und creative subjects are considered equally important. This educational concept has spread from Stuttgart all around the world and there are now 1 150 schools and almost 1 900 kindergartens offering this Waldorf approach to education.
